Of course it is. I wear them all the time.  ;) Not for any of the aforementioned jobs though.

I wear the same gloves when I clean fish and when I cut up my deer...not the shoulder length just the latex...

I wear Nitrile gloves all week at work, so I'm just as comfortable working with them on as not. When I'm doing super clean work I can get up to having 3-4 layers of them on my hands. As I risk contamination I add another layer, after 3-4 my fingers do get stiff.

I think those are the same as I use...I get them in a box of 50 at the drug store...Large are purplish/blue

They probably are, they aren't as slippery as the latex. Ours are white, but they are cleanroom grade.

I had to wear gloves to gut my deer this year since I had sliced two of my fingers in a Thanksgiving turkey carving accident and had 7 stitches in each finger. Normally I don't wear gloves but I don't think its a good idea to be exposing deer guts to open cuts.  Actually I'm thinking of looking into some cut proof gloves since I seem to have difficulty handling sharp objects safely as this is not the first time I have hacked myself up with a sharp knife. I came close to severing one of the tendons on the index finger of my right hand with a fillet knife about 15 years ago. Some people are just physically uncoordinated I guess.
