Here are some pictures.  The bull is not the trophy I had hoped for.  But with season ending in a few days he is big enough.  Plus he was in an easy spot to get to and I had help loading.

7 of us loaded him whole in my pickup

The spread is about 45 inches.  The weight is HEAVY.

I am 6 feet tall. I am 4 feet up a ladder.  The quarters to the left are from a good bull elk.

Very nice, is that the Shiras subspecies you have or are they the same ones we have here in Nh? Also what caliber was it taken with?

Shiras are only in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah I believe. NH ones are probably considers canadian moose.

Right, I know what our moose are. Just wondering if they were Shiras there and what was different?

Shiras or Wyoming moose.  As said before, they are the smallest of the three sub species.  Took it with one shot .270 150 gr Core-Lokt at 75 yards.  One more close up to finish it off.  1st shot was just a bit high but put it down.  I doubt if I will ever shoot another moose.  This was a nice one to end on.

Depends where you are.  No snow at my house near Shell.  Anywhere from 1 or 2 " to 2' in the Big Horns.

Nice Bull Wyoming Larry. Looks just about like the one I got a few years back. I call them point bulls. Have you ever cut through a hide any thicker, Moose hide is thick. Congrats

October snow in the mountains is not that unusual.  The elevation in that spot is close to 9,000'.   And yes moose hide is very tough.  It will knock the edge off of your knife.
