Well my crew did pretty well this weekend. 4 bucks 1 doe. No monsters but some great hunts.
I started it off with a decent 6 pt first thing Saturday morning. I fell victim to the "it looked bigger than I thought through the brush" ...lol.
He came in quick and I had to make a split second decision as he was heading away at 50 yds . He was no monster but a cool old buck. Biologist at check in station said between 4 1/2 to 5 year old mature buck. He just had crappy genes I guess. Good to take him out of the area I guess. Oh well, work is picking up even more so time will be limited for the month. Number 3 in the freezer. I figure I got a few more tags if I can find the time. I'll be focusing more on my boy from here on out. See if we can find something bigger.
My buddy bagged a nice 8 pointer and his 87 year old dad a decent spike too. Nice to see the old timers still at it.
