Here is a elk i bugled in for my friend this September. He shot it from 22 yards. The reason you do not see any blood on the side of the elk in the picture is of course he shot it from the other side, the arrow went in behind the front shoulder and logged into its hind quarter on the far side. The Bull went about 100 yards and fell over dead. It green scores 345.

Elk are wonderful to eat. I try to make sure I harvest one every year. I will be heading back this coming weekend and I will shoot any elk I see just to have meat for the freezer.
