Stag Down
« on: Oct 24, 2021, 09:20:00 AM »
Headed to the shore to sit the last afternoon of bow and then hunt our early muzzleloader

Opening morning at 9 I had this stag coming in working a rub line. Shot him at 10 yards he went another 20 and then piled up.

Been a fun month chasing them now to focus back on whitetail as things heat up.

Thanks guys.

It’s the core lightweight hoody. Nice a ne light when it’s hot but the skeeters bite through it.

I was worried they’d bite through my Apex but can’t say they did this year. Maybe I was just lucky

That’s a good question. Yes and no. Didn’t really have anyone shoot real close by. I would imagine the public by where I am probably isn’t the most desirable. Then again I’m not sure if people were cutting them off before they got to me. I heard bugling everytime I was there.

I hunted Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday morning. Didn’t see a whitetail or Sika. Decided not to hunt Saturday night and came back about noon. I really haven’t had much evening activity on camera. Wouldn’t you know a hind came in at 6 Saturday evening. Night time my camera goes off all night. Some real good stags as well.  I did have a small stag in there at 1 yesterday afternoon. Then a stud 8pt at 5:45pm yesterday. Another buck cruised by this morning. Other than that very little daytime activity.
