Vermonters: Any luck on opening weekend?

Hi all.  Went out this weekend, saw nothing.  Was hunting some public land , new to me, unscouted.  Pi$$ed rain all day Sat but Sun was beautiful (definitely to warm to shoot a buck, though).  Not at all surprised by my lack of success, had our 1st baby in May, so there hasn't been much free time.  Just grateful to get outside for the weekend.  Let's see/hear how you did

see one deer all weekend a little skipper and 12 turkeys lol seen alot of sign but no deer

I got a 150lb 4 pointer Saturday at about 1. Saw two doe come in, one was acting kind of funny, probably in heat. Then he came in, dead run at 80yds. Put the first shot just behind the shoulder, rolled him over. He got up, still moving at a good clip, so I threw another one in him, dropped 20yds away. Saw a second buck with him afterwards. Saw 8 deer total, VERY good day.

I didnt see anything all weekend. One of the guys i was hunting with shot and missed a buck saterday morning. I jumped one out of its bed a 9:30 this morning but couldent see enough of it to see what it was. Back at it tomorrow!

finaly saw a buck today   went out and  just sat down at 1:50  and shot him at 2:00 lol  5 pointer 154 pounds funny thing is when i tagged him i looked at my old 2007 licence  and i shot a 4 pointer in the same spot  and it came up the same draw as this one on the same date 11/18 lol so i told my father he will have to fight me for that spot on that date every year lol

town was wells   and yes his neck is swelled
