Too many deer
« on: Dec 07, 2010, 03:45:15 PM »

Anyone see the news segment where thereare too many deer [1200 in 5 sq.miles] in Valley Forge National park & the park service has hired pro hunters, sharp shooters even hunting @ nite. Of course Lee hill [animal activist] is against this. she thinks it is a natrual balance of nature.           WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

They could have stocked them up here.... ;D
They always hire shooters to kill them. I guess most of us average hunters can't shoot well enough.

Seem's like A youth or handicapped hunt would have been great to get started. Sportsmen could have handled the problem just as well IMO.

There lies the problem, they can hire people to "exterminate" the excess animals, yet call it hunting and the liberals have a fit!!

I never understand why they don't do management hunts like this as a lottery.  I'd guess they're also trying to control who the hunters are.  Considering some of what we all see in the woods each year, I'd bet it's to prevent any chance of an accident, and making it a worse fiasco than it already is.

They won't let the media watch any of this either I guess they don't want anyone see how a deer is hunted, you guys now as well as I do that deer don't go down right away. I'm sure even though you hit the deer & the deer is actually dead it runs.

you can straight out walk up to the deer there, it's rediculous, just bring your knife (you think i'm kidding but it would be pretty easy)
