Kris, Don't take this the wrong way but I would love to see the score sheet on that buck. I think there is to much emphathis on score but I cant believe that buck score's 177. There are several friend's and I that take scoring bucks seriously and can only come up with high 50's or low 60's. I just want to say though that I would love to shoot one that size some day. Nice pic's

I think it's the near-perfect symmetry and girth that scored it so high.
That is one nice rack!

yeah there isnt much difference between the tines a near perfect 5x5
i think it just looks smaller on the mount because we dont get to see deer with the weight of those canadian deer around here

I don't do a lot of scoring but have helped, and seen quite a few of these Canadian deer and my math has no problem with this ending up a 177
G1  7" x 2 = 14
G2  13" x 2 = 26(conservative) could be 14
G3 12" x 2 =24
G4 4" x 2 = 8

C1 -4 avg 5"  = 20" x 2 = 40(again conservative. It has a lot of mass)

Beam length 24" x 2 = 44 at least.
inside spread 22"

That would be my guess at the gross B&C points.

tk10, we were just going off the 2nd picture to come up with measurement's so I guess if he has a hand that measure's about 8 or 9 inches across the palm ,your numbers could be good. You would know more about canadian deer than me. Regardless of the score, it's a great buck!!!!!

Sorry guys it's been a while since I signed in. I had to delete the first few pics but it did score 177 and it made the book. I'm only going by what I was told! It's got huge mass in the main beams and there might not be enough perspective there. The brow tines are almost 8 inches long (If I remember correctly) and really, the pic doesn't do justice to the sheer mass of the beams. It really was (is?) a huge buck.

Hey Kris-
You can modify your post and get rid of those red Xs.
