2012 Season
« on: Aug 11, 2012, 08:19:54 AM »
Anyone getting ready for the season? I've been doing a little scouting but the fishing has been so good I can't stop! LOL I have a Antelope tag in the Red Desert and managed a couple days scouting/fishing on Seminoe. Spotted a real good antelope I'm hoping to go look for in two weeks. I've seen a couple nice mule deer in places I have access to. Now if I can get long bow distace away. I've been shooting for months after the no bow hunting last fall after shoulder surgery. I'm ready to do a little bow hunting. The dry conditions should assist in the antelope hunting.

Anyway let the games begin!

I made the draw of a lifetime this year. I got an area 1 type 1 moose tag.  I have been up several times scouting.  A week ago I spotted three very big bulls in my area.  Rifle season starts Oct 1.

Appleye, good luck on the Red Desert goat.  I have hunted area 64 and a few other nearby areas in the past.  Wonderful country for a quality hunt.  Lots of animals, lots of room and few people.

Appleye, glad you are back in action after a year off from surgery! Couldn't imagine not being able to archery hunt a season. I've been shooting my bow all summer and am ready to chase an antelope this week! I didn't draw any exciting tags (leftovers and generals), but I'm excited for the season anyway. Took a quick 20 mile loop through the mountains over the weekend and managed to see a few animals. No antlers, but they were there in the dark timber somewhere.

Good luck this season!

Hopefully I will have some pictures of some elk down this weekend, have a cow elk tag that opens for rifle on Saturday, been out a couple of times and see a few, just hope we can find them this weekend.  Good luck to all who are headed out tomarrow for the archery antelope.
