300 ULTRA MAG HELP
« on: Feb 16, 2014, 06:58:00 PM »
Hey all im looking to start reloading for my 300 ultramags .
I have been using 180 gr. Corelocks in two of my guns but just picked up a new Sendero .
Im hopeing to hit the 1000yrd mark. I topped it off with talley rings and a Leupold 6x20 x50.
Guess im thinking  210 - 230 grain .bullet ....any thought out there?

I'd say the 230's ,  They'd give you a lot more punch at that yardage ;  The litter Bullet won't have the wallop  out there
and you won't get no where near the side drift as the litter bullet will      Good luck

The other one is topped with a 4.5 x 14 x 50 leupold matt . I tryed some 200 gr.A frame last year ....no kills with new setup...this one is my sons now he takes hunter saftey this weekend....he is 6'4  233 pds. Size 14 shoe ...just turned 16..
The new rifle is our next project ...looking for my son and i to try some long range this year. If he likes the sendero im sure there will be a new addition to the collection.
