2007 Elk

Shot him yesterday morning at 8:30. Tracked him down into a creek bottom and up other side. Then lost him. Finally found him shortly after noon. Had given up and was walking out to closed road. Found him laying 100 yards or so above closed road and 800-1000 yards from where we started. We pulled him to the road and game-carted him out 1 3/4 to 2 miles. Pretty easy actually, from the time we went into get it out and got back to truck and driving away was 3 hours.


This my daughter with gamecart on way out. Put whole elk and a chain saw winch in cart. She could even push cart by herself. 99% downhill to truck!!



This is my other daughter [twins] with a small cow from previous week. Actually carted this one through the woods about 1/2 mile and the another 1/2 mile on closed road to truck.

Nice bull zimmer2.  The great thing is you stayed on the Bull tracks and you had your Daughter with you WTG!

Just got back from Libby tonight about 4:00. Deer hunting was pretty slow,very little snow, full moon, did see 3 pretty good whitetails 140-150 class but no shots at them. Only shot I got was this last minute little wanna-be-buck

Thanks Big Ice, hunting with my kids is what is is about for me. Love to hunt don't get me wrong, but hunt with my kids......AWESOME
