CANVASBACKS!!!

Got into a couple cans today! We had a pair come in and the two guys in the front of the boat dropped them both. Both were drakes. First dead can I have ever seen.

do those canvasbacks swim real low in the water?   I saw ALOT of ducks with the red heads on a safe lake today  they were smaller, swam real low in the water, and very spooky. Very cool looking birds...

Yes, they are a diver duck. They ride low and like to hang in groups in the middle of lakes.

thats what I was seeing  they can move. They were on a lake in the village I live where you cannot shoot

well you got red heads as well that look just like canvas backs but the red head has a ight blue bill with black tip and gold eye. as for the cavy they have a sleek all black bill and red eye

And redheads ride up high in the water just like a mallard. They fly, swim, and act like a mallard. In fact they are more of a puddle duck and hate being in rafts in the middle of the lakes.
