Ya i was leanin towards the RNT but i still havent made up my mind just yet.....cabelas only wants 20$ for the quack head.....theres a few different models of it.....any idea which the best one would be for an all around call for a beginner caller? Here is the link http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712-cat20823&rid=&indexId=cat20823&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=1&parentType=index&parentId=cat20823&id=0034698

i've owned about a dozen, for beginningn the duck commander classic is great for a wood call. The Double Nasty II is good for an acrylic. Wood calls sound more like a duck though

buy the cd "Duckology 101"... can't go wrong. Its all the basics starting from the very beginning with breath support to calling sequence and feeding calls. you can get it for like 10-12 bucks if u search, not much more. I still listen to it every year to refresh, can't go wrong

It all takes time. A double reed is an easier call to start with than a single, but the best advice is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!! I've been calling for 5 years and still start up on my calling two months prior to the season.
Say Fred, you go up that ridge......and I'll go down in the swamp.....we'll get that buck. -The Nuge
