Good for you Matt! Zone 3 is nice, only 100 permits each week, home every night, it’s always my 1st choice. Not many people left on this sight, even during the season.

Taking a friend and his 2 boys out first week in September in zone 4.  My camp is about 30 minutes from the zone, but an hour from where we'll be setting up calling.  Last year was the first year i didn't get one, in 12 hunts.  The shooter went home at 9am on Tuesday for his new girlfriend and homecoming.....he was in full rut🤣  Good luck wveryone

My girlfriend got drawn for Sept zone 2 and I got drawn for Oct zone 2 cow, staying in portage both weeks, really only care about her getting one, mine was just a bonus.
Good luck to you guys.

If you get one with a collar do you have to report it and return it. If you do, do they give you all the information about that animal??

I would assume when the bios see the moose traveling 45mph along a highway they are anticipating it showing up at a tagging location. Yea they’ll give you information on the animal, age, location it was collared and you can probably keep the collar. The question I have is are state employees and their family members eligible to apply for a moose permit? If so I believe that is very unethical.
