Went out this afternoon and covered about 9 miles round trip trying to locate some Muleys I'd seen during archery but couldn't get up on. After a 4 mile trek to get away from the nearest road, I located this one about a mile from me while glassing some fields. He's a respectable 5x5 in the mid 20's but when I first seen him thru 8x bino's I thought he was much larger! I think because he's tall and was walking away from me I judged him wrong. Put a stalk on him and closed the distance to 240 yards when I snapped these photo's. Only had my cell phone on me so I used the bino's and the riflescope for magnification. Couldn't bring myself to squeeze the trigger on him, but if I'm not tagged out by the last weekend, I know where he lives now! Seems he's already rounded up his harem for the rut! Hopefully this keeps him in the area. Good huntin' - OH
BTW - If you have in the field photo's of big game that you just took pics of, please feel free to add them to this thread with a description if you'd like!
I KNOW, I KNOW. You're not supposed to point your gun at something you're not going to shoot, but a 14x scope sure makes a great telephoto lens!
