Anyone been small game huntin?

Went out today. Kicked up about a dozen grouse and 4 rabbits. Came back with one grouse and 2 rabbits and a bunch of empty shell casings. Fast little buggers in the brush. Anybody else gettin anything?

Tyler and I took the shotguns for a walk last Sunday. Saw a couple birds, no shots. Was encouraging to see a Bunch of rabbit sign though.

3 of us hunted 4 hours today, got 16 bunnies....



Nasty cover though, the dogs worked it hard. One got her ear pretty torn up, but she wouldn't slow down, we quit before we limited to get her cleaned up....

Yeah, we had a blast. Want to get out this weekend but too much snow here- anybody know conditions around Kings Ferry or Ithaca?

What kinda recipe you use for your rabbits.... ???Heard rabbit spaghetti sauce was good!!!I got a ton of rabbits out back,thinking about shooting a few.... 8)

They are good in spaghetti sauce, pretty good baked in Shake & Bake mix too, either pork or chicken version is good. That pile is going into a stew for our local game dinner in February.

Haven't been this year but after seeing them hare's I'm gettin' the itch. I like to skewer a couple on a spit and cook over a camp fire with a little garlic butter and lawry's.

the guy we give our rabbits too loves to make rabbit pot pie not sure how he does it but it sure sounds good
