You can see how old it is here, and go from there.
And just for the record you can scope that gun.
You need a side mount for your scope.

id keep that rifle if i was you....i own the same model gun probly from around 1980....ive done a lot of hunting with that gun and i often carry it for bear protection while fishing, because it operates fast and smooth and holds 8 rounds in the tube...put a scope on that gun with see- thru mounts so you still got your open sights, or use a side release mount....remmy 700s are nice but id rather have my lever action for fast shooting than my ruger m77...since i bought my .44 blackhawk i dont carry the 30-30 as much for fishing but occasionally.....

like i said ive hunted plenty with that rifle and ive taken a few moose and black bear, 1 grizzly and 1 mt. goat with 170 grain silvertip bullets....ive also found it to be a wonderfully accurate rifle for wolves and other varmints on the run....

Point well taken. I know the rep this gun has for accuracy but i couldnt get use to a scope mounted on the side of a gun. Im looking for range out to 250 yds or so and that shot for me, requires a scope. If the darn thing had side eject or angled eject like the new one you bet id keep it!

Swede, stop by your local gun shop. Tell them you are going to advertise your gun and would like a valuation. I haven't held a ffl for about 15 years now so I'm a little rusty on prices. I would guesstimate $300-$400. It's the pre 1964 winchesters that are bringing collector prices. If your gun was manufactured in 1976 it will not bring the big$

Blue book said 275 tops. This one was super mint. Got 300 for it and put the $ towards a savage 270 win.

I just found that the 30-30 that my father passed down to me is a 1962. It is a model 94 and has a side mounted scope. Anyone know about how much it is valued at? Not that I would ever sell...just curious.

That gun is priceless. If it came from my Dad, it wouldn't have a price.

I also have a 30-30 Winchester with a hexagon barrel. It was my father's gun that helped us make it though some cold winters with deer meat. I would never sell, trade or give it up to the Obama goon squads. I may have to use it again to fight for freedom and liberty.
