I was hoping you would put together a contest like this. It's great way to get a few pics posted. Do you have to sign up for it?

im in but our season here in ny doesnt end until dec 11th and starts on nov 19th so that only gives me about 10 days to get the big one if the voting start on dec 1st
-
we have plenty of time if you include bow season, our deer season runs from 10/15-12/20 and heck most of use here that also have pa licences can hunt from 10/1-1/14, so there may be bigger bucks taken after the contest ends.
-
sounds great but it limmits me to bow season our fire arm season opens dec 5 th good luck to every one
-

This is the way the MFF fishing contests should work too, open to all members as of a certain date (that way, outsiders can't just come in and take home all of the prizes), just print the card and go fish.
I gotta warn ya all though, I'm bringing the monster buck home to win this year!
-
Sounds like fun, I'm in.
DROP
-
I'm in. ;D
-
Both species count right? Mulies and whites?
-
hhmmmm I got a place to hunt where there has been a 150 incher there for a while so and there are many massive bucks in this general area so I have a chance!!!! don't hold ur breath waiting because I would pea my pants if a 150 incher walked up to me
-
The Devil is in.
I just printed out the card and have been scouting a buck for two weeks now.
He's not huge, but will be worthy of entering.
-
where do you go to print out the card?
-
Click on Print Card at the bottom of Bobberstop's first post.
-
thank you out4trout, i missed that
-
I'm in but you guys are in trouble! I just put a new sight on the hood of my truck! Since the only big bucks I see are in the 'burbs I thought I'd just change my hunting strategy ;D!
-
the ol' ron white strategy ;D
-
Those big ol' bucks need to be tenderized anyway!
-
Well I got my moose and bear this year already so I guess I could go after a deer.
-
you got the jealous bone in my body acting up. i have no shot at a moose, but hopefully i can nab a bear with my bow.

-
I'm in just as the rut about to start here in PA
-
I'm more of a meat hunter than a trophy hunter but ya never know. I'll be sure to print and carry my card.
Oh...........and a camera!
-
By the way, is there going to be a certain thread for the contest or do the pics just get posted to the existing pic thread?
-
I'm in, but it's going to be tough holding that card in front of the buck when I shoot him. I guess I'll figure it out..... ::)
-
congrats, did you post any pics?
Sorry shrub for the late reply but I'm still hunting and have little time for the puter. I will post them. Where would you like me to post them? How about individual species?
-
shore that would be kool, good luck with the rest of your season, we still have to wait until november 12 for deer in vermont,

I don't hunt deer much, just at my cousins in Ontario. Here in BC I'm more of a moose, elk, black bear and grizzly, caribou hunter(if I travel a ways). Deer season here is long. Goes from early Sept to Nov 30.
-
is anyone gonna post a buck!?!??!?! ;D
-
I just did.....
-
I just did.....
Great start dr icegeek.Looks like a nice 8 point.Great deer.I would be thrilled taking that this year with the bow.Good luck gun season
-
Thanks d-balm. Like I said, I've seen a few bigger deer, but every year when I say that I'll hold out for the big one, I end up not shooting one the whole season. He was a mature deer and I don't have any problem shooting mature bucks...with my luck one of those "monsters" will end up bedding down under my stand now that I used my tag.....
-
Nice buck you got there!
-
Way to go Dr. Icegeek! That's a beautiful deer, great way to kick off the contest. I would be proud to take one like that with the bow.
-
WTG! thats a great way to start the contest! ;D
-
Here's another pic without the MHF card in the shot...anyways it's not such a closeup so you can see the width of the rack a little better. I didn't realize how beat up I looked until I viewed the photo online....

nice buck!!! ;D
-
Nice buck Tim, it is a little bigger then the one I was going to shoot on friday night, and a lot smaller then the BIG buck I saw. I am now thinking about calling off going to Oak lake to hunt and maybe spend my days off here at home. My chances of getting a Big buck are better here.
-
Nice buck tk10, he look fairly heavy from what you can see in the picture. Nice even rack too.
-
Thanks guys. Hey fly-in just got back from Virden with my girls. No luck for them this year. It was to cold and too much snow for the deer to move, but they started to move yesterday just when we had to leave.
Out4trout the buck actually reminded me of the size of the Caribou we packed out this year. Should be a lot of good eating.
-
TK, The weds night was cold (-26) but the rest of our hunt was good, walking those hills sure would warm you up. I shot two the first morning (spike and a springer), we push alot of bush out there but there wasn't anything comming out. The only other deer that our party shot was one shot by Stu (Mike's brother), Stu broke his foot just before the season so he shot his from a lawn chair beside his truck while we pushed bush for him. He told us to imagine we were getting $100 tips (he was playing the part of a cheep American hunter on a guilded hunt).

So does the voting still start today? This site has been a little slow. ???
