gun raffles
« on: Sep 24, 2006, 03:10:28 PM »
Does anyone know of any up-coming gun raffles in the western NY area? I'm surprised there isn't a list for these, in this forum, considering most raffles are run by clubs that promote hunting and conservation. There's been a few weeks when we didn't have any plans, and I would have rather had a raffle to go to, as apposed to staying home cleaning ;)

If this is the one by Olcott, I saw a post about it in the MFF.( I went there last weekend to see if there was any word about the salmon coming in by the pier.) It was the main reason for my coming to this forum, at this time, hoping there would be more listed. From the sound of the posts I read, it seemed a good bet that the raffle was already sold out.  :(  Good luck to you though.

ill get the date for the one in Elma

Thanks, but don't go out of your way for me. It's probably posted in the Red Apple, and I'll just have my B/F look for it tomorrow, when we stop for the paper. I use to look for stuff like that when I would go in, but now I stay in the van (with our deer camp oups :o ). Dave doesn't notice anything, unless I point it out to him.

The Belfast Fire Dept. is having their annual gun raf. in Nov.  ,  tickets have only been out a week or two so there is a bunch left.

I buy those every year. Love winning the big peperoni's .I just wish they would either serve or sell beer. Everyone goes next door to the Belfast Hotel for a few between raffles.

I wish they had beer also but in the past some out of town hunters got a little frisky with the wives that woked the raffle and they decided to put a stop to it. :(     I'll be there come say hello....
