haha loony I must have missed this before...funny stuff. I had jerky one time but it was that mass processed crap...assuming that it is a lot better home made.

  bison dogs the best......burgers are ok (and dont taste like chicken) jerky is awesome and steak well you must desire a bison steak to like it......(dont taste like chicken either) bison dogs are fantabulous as real jerky is too

Good luck on your hunt. I have been on 2 successful bison hunts in the last 5 years. They are huge animals. The first one we (4 of us) used game carts to get him to the truck. It took about 6 hours and we were fairly close to the road. The other was about 3/4 mile from road. I hired Tag &Drag to get him out. We had him gutted and cut in half when they got there. It was about 5 hours from the time I pulled the trigger till he was in the truck.

Well no luck on this trip. Had a herd about 500 yards from the boundry but they had a mind of their own and went the wrong way. Will go back after we get some snow. My friend did see a Wolf. Didnt get a shot though.

I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HARVET COUNT IS BUT IM TEMPTED TO CALL THE FISH AND GAME IN JACKSON AND ASK..

They will tell you. They will also tell you areas to hunt where the bison frequent. They were very helpfull to me.

BISON COUNT AS OF YESTERDAY. 150 LICENSES SOLD-52 BISON HARVESTED. MOSTLY BULLS. MOST WERE TAKEN OPENING WEEK AS THEY WERE ON THE REFUGE.

With this cooler weather and snow , more will be moving out of Yellowstone and toward the refuge. Just got to be there at the right time.
