ME AND MY HUNTING PARTNER ARE GOING BISON HUNTING FOR A WEEK BY THE TETONS. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR HAVE SEEN ANY TATANKA OFF THE PARK? I WAS UP THERE THE END OF SEPTEMBER AND THEY WERE STILL ON THE PARK. ANY INFORMATION WOULD REALLY BE APPRECIATED.  GOOD LUCK HUNTING....

Stop by G&F office in Jackson, they will tell you where they have been killed and where to look. I got mine last year on the south end of shadow mountain, on national forest. Had to use Tag and Drag to help get him out. Do you have a bull or cow tag? The bulls seem to roam more and are easier to find on forest. The other place we saw them was on Spread Creek a bit farther north. Good luck!

My bull was 6.5 years old, in had 824.5 lbs of meat and bone hanging at the locker.  Filled 9 coolers full of packaged meat. Filled all my freezer space, had 30 some packs of burger meat left that I took to church freezer and gave away. Got a call from the processor that he missed giving me a bag of meat, picked up 30 some packs of burger a couple of days later. The steaks are a little chewy but have excellent flavor. Burger is awesome. Made some exclent jerky too. I still have quite a bit of meat left.

WOW. THATS A LOT OF MEAT. I PLAN ON MAKING SOME INTO SAUSAGE AND SALAMI. GOT MY SMOKER ALL SET UP AND READY TO GO. CONVERTED IT TO PROPANE. ALSO GOT MY SALAMI INCUBATOR WIRED AND READY. JUST NEED THE BISON....

NO. WE ARE LEAVING IN THE MORNING. GOING TO GET LICENSE AND DO SOME RECONNING OF THE AREA.. OUR PLAN IS TO BE THERE ALL WEEK IF NEEDED.

haha loony I must have missed this before...funny stuff. I had jerky one time but it was that mass processed crap...assuming that it is a lot better home made.
