welll friday I saw some monster long beards but they never presented a shot. Saturday I saw that doe but she never came closer that 60 yards  and sunday I saw those Toms again but never came closer than 60 

how was everyone elses weekend?

oh ya I saw a monster buck near my house last night it had one of the biggest bodies I have seen on a deer also a nice 5ish pointer I think these may be a couple of the deer I got on my trail camera last yr, I think I will be moving one of my stand shortly

saw 4 on saturday night, none close enough. does and fawns. saw 2 yesterday am, missed a nice doe a 40 yards, shot just under her. only seen does so far, nothing with head gear yet.

i thought I may have heard some sparring last night but it was one set of rattle so I am not sure. I have never heard it in person before

coulda been. the little bucks will mess around lightly once the velvet comes off.

pulled my stand this morning. finished my woodlot so im not gonna keep driving to wolfeboro to bow hunt, especially now that bird season is upon us. the bow is put down untill december now if i even bowhunt then....good luck to the rest of ya

just went and got some more climbing sticks so I can move that stand and hopefully pattern those deer I saw. Hopefully I can get the stand up tommorow or thursday so I can hunt it next week

hey guys got a question for you, how lat in the evening would you set a stand if you dont plan on hunting it for about a week.. I am thinking about hangin a stand around 5-530 tommorow when I get out of work. Do you think this is too late and will affect the deer if I jump any?

ya like wise I wouldnt have time to hang it mid day until sunday and that means I would be leaving a doe in rochester that has been coming in prety regularly hmmmm decisions decisions

wouldnt bother me to sit on the ground. when we messed around w/ expanded archery in cape elizibeth i shot more deer on the ground then i did from a tree. same in PA, i shot a few sitting in a s**t spreader in a field and one from inside a hey trailer and one from inside an old school bus

lmao too funny, I like the vantage point in all honesty I started hunting out of stand maybe 4 yrs ago and like it alot better.. I dont mind still hunting with my 12 gauge in hand tho

i wouldn't hang a stand at 5-530 myself. cuttin it too close imo.

i gotta sneak out of work somehow haha, I cant hunt until sat evening ill be hunting the seacoast then I guess I could come back sunday morning hang the stand and hunt it that night.. My only dilema is ther is that doe that frequents near my stand and others hunt in the area and I know if I dont poke her before gun season I may not get the chance

go hang it tonight! i wouldnt worry that much about it.  it def isnt gonna help if you dont hang it till sat. and it wont hang itself. do it tonight. i dont know how many times ppl have killed deer after making all kiinds of noises. hangin stands, slammin truck doors etc. just be quick and somewhat quiet about it. my buddy phil shot an 8pt last fall after goin up a tree w/ a climber. deer came through before he could pull his rifle up which was a remmy 7400. point being those are not quiet guns to load and he still killed him. go make it happen!
