The doe wasn't a shooter?
No, I don't want to waste a tag on the doe just yet when I can use it on a buck......... I have one bow tag for a buck only and one for either that is all they give us so I can't just cut loose. I would love to though.......

To be honest I doubt it will help with the flies. As far as tasting better I can see that.

Who knows it may work. Only reason i say it wont is the first deer I got this year I made jerky out of. We were in my buddies garage and I had the seasoning on the ground meat(Pepper in it). There were two pesky flies that kept trying to land on it.

Ive heard of the pepper thing before in magazines and such. I think it is for extended back country hunts where you dont have cooling available. I would think you would need alot on the meat to do anything. Then clean it of at the final butcher.

there we two deer bedded under my stand at 6 am this morning. then at 7 three does came in. video taped them for a while on my bow cam and they fed off. fired up the skidder at 730 and came on to two bedded in one of my old skid roads then about two hrs lter on the back edge of the lot i hadf a big doe standing about 15 feet of my main skid road. lotsa fun. started raining heavy in wolfeboro and mudded up my landing so i quit for the day and i cant hunt tonight cuz its mamas b day
i will have no issues putting a quill in one of the bigger does if she shows up.still have maine to find a buck and two new hampshire buck tags. ive always found getting that first fresh one in the freezer really takes the edge off
