put out three cameras wednesday.  when will the bucks start showing some velvety bone?  april?  may?

         I've seen them as early as mid June, I think it depends on diet & weather, we might some early 1's this yr.

You mean start growing or fully grown? I have seen bucks start growing their antlers during turkey season down here(April, May). They will be done growing by Mid to late August. Really dont get an idea of how big they will be till July.

What about button bucks, do those little buttons fall off, I could have sworn I saw a little 1 w/buttons the other day.

Well that goes to my theory weather &m diet, you live close to the coast, your spring is earlier than ours probably more fields, here where I live it's all trees & Mt's.

  Our green up is 3 weeks later in the spring & 3 weeks earlyer in the fall than yours
