Fun Times in the North Maine Woods
« on: Sep 27, 2021, 05:54:31 PM »
Been 16 years since Iv been to maine hunting and had one hell of a time this week hound hunting. Ended up shooting my bear the first two hours of the hunt on a road crossing a 171 lb boar. Was able to spend the rest of the week tagging along with the group chasing bears and had more fun on those chases.

Have spent a lot of time coon and rabbit hunting but running bears hit a whole new level. Hoping I will be able to again next fall.

My bear from Monday.

Joel’s bear from Tuesday a 437 lb tank

Josh’s bear from Friday 212 lbs

Sounds like a fun and different kind of hunt Cody. A friend of mine had a pair of hounds he had spent a lot of money on and NY outlawed bear hunting with dogs, that was almost 30 years ago.
Its always archery season. >>>---------->

Fortunately we can still run hounds here and also trap them. We can take 2 a year one by hunting one by trapping

It’s a shame they did I doubt it will ever come back.

Must be a rush going in on one in a trap. They trapped a 414 the week before we got there

Wow! Great bear. Lot of rules to do it but pretty simple. And the nice thing is unlike a hunt it’s working 24 hours
