. So who is putting em out? Heading north at 3 Saturday morning to set the baits then back home to wait a week or so to hunt em. May go up weds to see if they been hit and add some bait? You guys ready?

I am ready to rock and roll bud. You knew that though. I am in a low density area but close to home to hunt it daily and tend to the bait without breaking the bank on gas........ Had a few in last year just never in shooting light so the camera says......... Good luck, I know I will need it................

Wish there where more bears down here to make it worth setting out some bait. I am heading North tomorrow for a bear hunt/moose scout weekend.

tony, how far north are you coming? there are three bears hanging around my landing and making tracks in my skid roads about every three days or so. workin in wolfboro.

thanks i appreciate it man but i had better concentrate on finishing up this woodlot then i have 3 foundations lined up after that w/ s**t tons of building. if i plan to do any deer hunting or bird/duck hnting w/ my new pup i gotta keep it to the grind stone this month. if i get really lucky i may take my bow w/ me and throw a stand up behind the landing and see if i cant plug one of those does that keep hangin around. we'll see. good luck w/ the bears man!

awesome man! good luck, ill be out here in NY in a couple weeks, no bait but I got pics of them chewing up logs and stuff so who knows...might hang a scent wick with vanilla on it

No, but only 15 mins. away from us, it will be a challenge no doubt, but a better chance than skipping out on it........

Just got back from my bait and it got CRUSHED! Only bad news is at 10pm it crushed my lens on my trail cam and I got 1 pic of a mouth lol! Put out more bait and am grabbing batteries for a spare cam I think I will hunt it tonight if the girls stay at camp tonight...............

Bait got smoked at 6am today......... Cam is horrible I can see it is a bear but don't know how big?

Sucks about the walk but hey, the walk in or out can be what makes it successful I know I have gotten my fair share of animals that way.
They will show up, you are in a prime spot and my area has some of the worst bear numbers in the state I just got lucky early. Last year they didn't find it until a couple days before the season ended :-\

Yep just down the road pretty much. Maine tags were way more money. I will be dropping a buck though in the ME. 8)

question how does bear baiting work, I know you are suppossed to have written land owner permission and register the bait site with f&G what is isnt privately owned land? I would imagine you still have to register the site but how do you get permission or is it even allowed?

ya there are a few good spots up there for bear one right near where he got that one maybe 3 miles max down the road I had a stand with a ton of bear sign, he sat my stand one morning and said he saw one but decided not to shoot.. that is serious bear country up there, he got his 2nd bear when I was in the stand maybe 300 yards away haha son of a gun

Oh yeah, that was in between takes on North Woods Law because I remember ryder there and he still had a license ::) LOL did you see him on that show? He had Batulas truck trying to shoot the partridge out the truck haha!

Went up to the site tonight. Saw these tracks on the way in so took a pic. Bait has been hit but no bear tonight. Trail can took a bunch of pics but they are all white. I did get the times though but all in the morning. I brought the camera home hoping if I plugged it into the computer I could get some pictures but didn't work. Now I know why I don't use the stupid things. Ahh well. Taking my uncle up tomorrow to sit. Hopefully one showes for him.

Welp, my bait season is over, I can't hunt again until Saturday but that is when deer season opens so that's it for me. I will leave the camera and bait out for the last week and post some of my bear pics when I pull it on the 21st........ Just couldn't get one to show in daylight :-\

Same here. I had bears coming in but couldn't get them to show when I was there. The deer season started last weekend here in Maine and I don't have time to do both. Deer won out. I ended up giving my bear site up to a friend who just started a guide service and needed a few more sites. He will have a client on it all of next week. Maybe the client will get lucky.

Right on! I still consider the bear season a success, where I live just to have a bear come in period is amazing........

put the bait out at my place in pittsburg also got hit at 3 am. gave up after a week. my neighbor also is getting hit in the we hours

Very nice Tony! My bait was all picked up on Fri. Seasons over Til next year down here. Last Monday my buddy who was on the site with me missed one :-\
