Post by: turkey nuts on Nov 29, 2008, 09:54:56 PM
went out today well before sunrise dragged the climber out and sat until about 10 nothing ..headed to another area that flooder last year knowing that deer are river bottom dwellers thought i'd find some decent sign but not the case there !! headed to a third area that i've been keeping on the back burner .. now about 1:00 dragged the climber in with me this is a swamp  edge that is surrounded by steep hardwoods with a couple small finger brooks flowing down into the swamp. it also has a few small areas of old clearcuts mixed alond the hillsides. set up in a tree  on the edge of a clear cut on the hill .. between the turkeys and deer this place was torn up ..scratchings all over the place runs littered with track and every branck below waste high has been nipped and acorns busted all over the ground . this area usually is littered with buck sign but this year theres nothing very surprised by this..anyway all said and done i saw nothing.. but i will be back in there in the am with my blind and expectations and hopfully better news to post  ;)
