Moose Season
« on: Oct 26, 2011, 03:01:28 PM »
Did anyone get out this season as permitee, sub, or guide?
I was called on twice in the first 3 days to be part of the retrieval team.

This was a nice bull shot the 3rd morning 49" spread 762lbs.  Not a bad VT moose.

I guided a fella from NY and we killed a bull the second day that had a respectable 42 inch spread and cleaned out 715lbs! I would post a pic but have trouble figuring this out! If i could just text it from my phone it would be easier! lol

That was an H1 bull.
My Dad successfully took a guy to D2 a few years ago.  Its a good area.

I ended up calling 6 moose in 4 days! I think our rut started later than normal cause of the weather.

That's great, nice moose.  I bowhunt D2 and some years see more moose than deer from my stand.

Sorry I meant D1.  I have in laws in D1, I always get them juggled because we put in for D2 1st on our moose permit applications knowing there are more moose there, but 'camp' in D1.
