Hi all  ;D

We've just created a web application allowing users to receive and view cellular game camera images remotely from any computer or mobile device with internet access.

We're preparing to "launch" in December, and are looking for honest feedback from the people who could benefit most from this platform: hunters.

Please leave a response regarding your initial impressions of the service - features you think should be included, features you find unnecessary, any spots for improvement, anything that doesn't look right, etc.

We want to make this as easy and user-friendly as we possibly can, so please note anything you have even slight difficulty with, and we will address it immediately. Your feedback will be heard, and used!

View demo here:

Current feature list:
  • Click a camera's image or camera name to display all images belonging to that camera.
  • Click an image in the "all images" window to see a larger slideshow for that camera's images.
  • Remotely configure camera settings at any time using the "Settings" button on a camera.
  • Search images using image recognition keywords like "deer", "animal", "sunset", etc. (WIP)
  • Share any images via text/email with the "Share" button on a camera.
  • Save images as favorites using the Star icon to keep track of the best photos.

Thanks so much for your feedback, if you have any questions or comments at all, please let me know either on this post or through a PM.  :D

The look of the site is nice and looks very easy to navigate through. I do like the ability to change cameras when viewing another camera by using the drop down menu. Also like being able to set camera settings from the app itself. How long does it take a picture to show once you trigger a camera? Also what brands and models does this work with?

All in all, a great app that I would use if I had compatible cameras. The ability to share phone or email is nice too. Any plans to share on social media like Facebook? Not sure if there is a fee for that.

Maybe have a "float" pop up when you hover over the star stating that it means Favorite. Do users need to open an account to log in? Is there a fee to use the app? Is it available for mobile devices both Android and IOS?

Thanks tapone, really great feedback. Helps us a lot. We currently have a 5min maximum transmit time after the camera is triggered, but we're working to make it a matter of seconds in the next few months. With that comes more possible features: text alerts when an image is captured, sending a manual trigger to the camera at any time, etc.

To use the core features of the app (receiving/viewing images, favorites, sharing, searching, etc), you can use any cellular camera capable of sending email. We provide you with an email address to configure into the camera, then the images will appear on the web-app while logged into your account.

Camera specific actions like reconfiguring settings remotely or anything that involves sending a command TO the camera is not currently supported for all models, since every camera receives these commands differently and must be received in the correct format. For our current system, we found a model that works for us and built the two-way system around that particular camera.

Facebook integration is something we've thought about, but weren't sure if people would be interested. Definitely on the table now!

I'll add a tooltip on the star now, explaining that when you click it, that current image will be added to your favorites list. Thanks for the tip on that, we want everything to be super simple and self-explanatory.

You'll have your own user account in the web-app that only you have access to, and you can access the web-app from anywhere, as long as you can view the website (phone, tablet, PC, etc). I suppose the "app" terminology could be confusing, as it's not something you download from the app store, but instead a website that you visit.

There's a $5/month/camera fee for the lowest image allowance, but we're considering a free plan with some restrictions (photo limit, storage limit, limited features, etc). Any feedback on pricing is more than welcomed at this point.
