They have not in 4 years. Have not bought mine this year yet though. Should be the same 36.50

What I was wondering is way NY. is Different than most states you get yours in Aug. ; We buy ours new ones Jan. 1st.
here in Vt. you go Sept. to Sept . Just wondering way they are so much different than most states

When NY first started selling licenses, they started the year on Oct. 1, probably since hunting seasons are mostly in the Fall. It's been that way ever since, I guess it would be difficult to change now.

Government...OCT 1st is the beginning of the new fiscal year...not sure if that is why but it kinda makes sense...

Actually the new fiscal year starts April 1st for the state...messes up with reagent ordering for our labs in the Dept of Health......waiting for the budgets to pass and all. I know in VA the day you buy your license its good for 1 year till that date.
