Filled my 3rd and final NH bow tag Tuesday afternoon on a nice 11 pt. I had this deer on cam since August with plenty of daytime activity. The one stand I felt I could harvest him in has a predominant wind that doesn't work for this sit. I've been waiting patiently for the perfect wind since the opener hoping he wouldn't change patterns quite yet. Tuesday I got my chance feeling comfortable he wouldn't catch my scent and turn into a Nocturnal Nightmare. I slipped in after work at 4 and waited. at 5 I did a sequence on the grunt tube after noticing last week in a nearby area the bachelor groups were sparring hard and breaking off. My thinking was if he was around he would hear It and investigate to see what his old pals were up to and it worked. I grunted in last weeks buck I shot as well so I was confident. Anyway right after I put the call away I heard crashing from the bedroom and sure enough there he was. He filtered over to me scent checking the whole way into a quartering away shot at 15 yards. I put the pin on the opposite shoulder and sent it. Perfect shot and he went 75 yards and crashed. He dressed at 180 lbs. Now back to Bear hunting until Muzzleloader. I've passed a handful of Bears still hunting this year so hopefully it will pay off with a solid Bruin.

I havent seen anything like that come by me yet this year, but now I know what they look like. lol

Thank you, I appreciate that truly. I've had so many people say " well that was easy " ( fast, quick, lucky, etc )
They don't get that it wasn't just a one time 1 hour hunt it started in May with the stand placement and the camming for 5 months, the moving of a stand, the wind check everyday. There's just so much more to it. The ticks, mosquitos, 90 degree weather each day I was out there. I all but quit open water fishing and do nothing eventful I just scout all spring and summer. It's a obsession and a passion. To me it was a long hunt. A 6 month hunt. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love this sport

Nice buck, and congrats on the 6 pointer too! You definitely put in the time to be successful season after season. Your freezer must be looking pretty good right now!
