Kudos to any who got one this spring. I spent a lot of hours in the first two weeks out there, never heard a bird. Only saw two toms on rides scouting. Tough year.

The birds sure did behave strangely. I just got back from Maine, looked to roost birds 3 nights and not a sound. Hunted untill noon tuesday and wednesday with not a sound. I was told by friends that the birds shut down 2 weeks ago. Just an odd year with the earliy spring. I had a great trip anyway caught lot's of smallmouth and did about 250 mile's trail riding with the rest of the gang when they got there.

We haven't seen the bachelor group of toms since the snow got over a foot. Bet they are staying close to the corn piles... :o

Bet I could count several hundred every morning on a short ride around town. In everyone's yard under bird feeders with all the snow though.
