opening day

how did everyone do on sat. saw 2 foxes 2 bucks one a 4 1/2 point the other couldnt see and 5 doe 1 shot at a doe but could never find her or the arrow

Well, here is my first week of the season. 

Oct 1: One buck (small)  and 4 doe.

Oct 4: Nothing.  Too darn hot.

Oct 7: Went in the morning and saw a big half rack at 7:40, no good shot.

Oct 8: Had a 6pt. walk by at no more than 10 yards.  Hour later a decent 8pt came to 30 yards, but no good shot, walked off.  Saw one doe later.

you guys think the waether is playin a part in the activity this year because i havent heard of that much in the way of people fillin tags like last year

Unfortionatly, I have not been able to be in the woods much this week.  Some people have said that the deer aren't moving much, others are saying that there are bucks (not big ones) chasing does around.  I will be in the woods most of friday, and I will let you know what happens.  Try some light rattling.  It worked for my buddy this time last year.

saw quite a few deer the past 2 days will be out all day tomorrow buit the rut is definatley in now so get your ars's out there and hunt

how did everyone make out this season got my first ever with the bow a drokem spike tagged as a doe the picture is on the bow section of the site shot it at 9:12 yestreday 11/12/05 morning

Good job fastribs!!  I didn't get anything.  Had the last 3 days of the season off and I only saw 1 deer.  Have been in ohio and haven't gotten anything yet.  Gun season is around the corner and I am very excited.  Good luck!!

Hunted a state game land in venango county.  Saw 12 deer by 10am and two were buck.  Dad got a nice 14" 8pt. at 7:30.  Saw a buck about the same size as his but no shot.  The other was a small fork horn.  Good luck the rest of the season.

saw 7 deer not sure of 2 saw them off in the distance as they hit the brush did get a big doe out of the 5 that came in about 745 dad  missed 3 int the first three days and one brother couldnt get a shot the other had to let them walk because of saftey reasons girlfriends dad got a busted antler buck only had a 1/2" spike on one side and her brother got a button buck and a small 8 his first buck so a succesfull first 3 days for us just wish i didnt have to work the last 2

Still nothing yet.  Hunted saturday till 11 (work), saw 3 doe at 6:45 and that was it.  Have all day tues. wed. and thurs. to hunt.  Hopefully something will give.  Good luck.

hey dont woory didnt get mine till late last year almost jan. so keep after them headed out saturday lookin for a buck got 2 tags left one doe and my buck so im with ya
