Yellow Waxy Cap?
« on: Nov 11, 2008, 03:43:42 PM »
Alright, so I am very new to this mushroom hunting, but am very interested.
I have the Audubon Guide and after identifying a few usless mushrooms I think I have found something edible.
Anyone care to verify/comment/confirm this.
Looks to me to be Yellow Centered Waxy Caps, which is supposed to be edible.
Slimy coating that remains tacky even after a couple days of drying and has a white spore print.

Anyone ever tried one? The areas I am currently deer hunting is LOADED with them.

I believe I have identified these correctly.
Cooked a few in garlic butter, tasted great!
