2012 Spring Turkey Hunt Videos(added more)
« on: Mar 15, 2013, 10:42:34 AM »
Re-edited the videos from last year's hunts; included all footage and added some pics, sound is now in sync, and I put them on Youtube for better resolution than PB(swith to 1080 HD when you watch). Filmed with a Kodak Playsport attached to the bow with an Insane Archery mount.

Tom: http://youtu.be/MmUuoSWzQQI

Both are NY birds. Heading west this year soon. 8)

Thanks all. With the tom, I didn't even know the hen was there till she popped out from behind his fan just after I drew. Probably was a good thing because she would have spotted me drawing; she made quite a bunch of quick calls when I drew the second time. Hit him low on the first shot, luckily he stopped in an opening for a followup as he hobbled away.

Getting more videos edited and uploaded to Youtube. Had some on another (broken) computer that I can now get at.

Here's all the footage of 2 jakes I passed on, they were  close; the birds were quiet that day, did finally get one to gobble as they were walikng away at the end(even with the squeeky calls):

Had a lot of action the next morning when I shot the jake; these two hens ran in and attacked my decoy first thing, by the time I was able to start recording the were going at each other:

Finished two more from May 4th, had two jakes come in before the one I shot; both came from the left, heard two gobbling on the roost there. The one I shot came from in front, heard another one on the roost down there; but the first two headed that way, could be a 3rd jake or one of the first 2 came back.

The first one didn't stay long, added captions with times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylR3ver6j-Q

The second one stayed for over an hour gobbling; if you listen closely you can hear him cut me off both times I do a gobble call, after that he was fired up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UicFmnFfgc

Thanks monk and loony, this has been my way of getting ready since we now have lots of snow again; been shooting my bows indoors for now.

Been playing with the movie editor some more, decided to make a season highlight video; was easier since I had cut all the videos once, just cut more out and spliced them together. Split it in two for easier uploading.
