Here is a pic of the canyon I shot my buck out of. I spotted the buck from the rim with the snow on it. He was all the way across the canyon on the other side in a finger of trees. I watched him for about an hour trying to decide how I would make a stalk. He looked okay, I wanted a little closer look.
Here is the other side of the canyon the buck was down near the bottom of this finger of trees, near the biggest pine tree, at the bottom. I got within about 150 yds, it took me about an hour, got into postion and made the shot. My friend Jim drove all the way around the canyon and ended up at the rim where you see the snow near the top.
Here is my buck.
It was a heck of a pack out, I took half and Jim took half. It all started at 8:30 in the morning and we finally got him to the truck about 5:30 in the afternoon.
I don't know how old this buck was I'm guessing 6 1/2 years old. Here is his teeth I will be sending them in it will be interesting to know.
They were abscess on top pretty bad.
