I did connect on a nice female Fisher in that area. I turned in the carcass and received the patch offered. Pelt is heading to Moyles Mink & Tannery today.

I saw a huge Fisher here in RI last weekend while deer hunting. I do not know how big they get but I would guess from nose to tail at least 3-3 1/2 feet long and Very black. Must have been 15-20lbs. At least 1.5 feet at top hump height.

What would you consider a "Fishy" area (see what I did there lol) I tend to always see them in thick white pine forests with lots of young growth and scattered old tall pines.

I like to find any edges, pine with a lot of down stuff and hardwood, stream, stonewall, old logging road... especially when these that come together with a beaver pond/dam involved. Also areas within those areas that funnels a fisher's movement.

Seeing them the way you did, while hunting is a good way to find fishy area!  ;)
