OK, what is it with me? I have been hunting NY for 15 years and have NEVER seen a tick. I have always remarked about it because here in NH we are infested with them.

They are bad this year, in the past 3 days I have pulled 8 off my golden retrievers, dirty little bastards are everywhere.
Nothing beats the view through a peep!

Pulled one out of my arm yesterday that'd been in there since the weekend. Just walked outside to look for the VIN on my wheeler and came in with more ticks crawling on me. Pulled about 10 off me last weekend. This is insane!

Do most of you guys live in the same area of the state. My vet said ticks are moving more and more north due to the warmer temps we have been having. Knock on wood, but I have only seen 1 so far this year.

Just curious if it is a regional thing?

I am in the Albany area....   the woods around here are loaded with them.

I hunt opening weekend an hour southwest of Rochester ..... and ticks are almost non existent out there.

I shot two deer last year ..... the one from Albany had 100+ ticks on it (we hung it above a bucket with bleach in it and they either fell into the bucket or congregated on the head) and the one from Rochester had none.

Between the fleas and ticks it is pretty nasty out there  :o
