Hi! This is Ed's wife Lisa (yes I have officially hacked in...) and I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone on this thread soooooooooo much for all your support!  It is truely a miracle Ruger made it through all this (obviously we did not take any pics of the really grotesque 2 weeks there) and today he is getting his last laser treatment and the last of the staples and stitches come out.  He is officially BAAAAAAAACK!!!  And just as psychotically energetic as ever!  He doesn't even know anything ever happened to him or that he's slightly disfigured, he is just happy crazy quirky Ruger again, and his story could not have possibly had a better outcome.

Looking forward to meeting lots of you at this (middle of winter, very cold, you are all nuts) extravaganza thingamajigger.  (esp. huntNY30's wife, who I heard was asking for updates on Ruger, thank you)   Lookin forward to meeting other wives of these fishing and hunting crazed men and swapping stories of their antics and lunacy....

Careful Ms. Mookie, you may become one of us/them, like MossyOakMom or camoedchick.   ;)

We're all glad to hear he's on the mend, and even better to hear that he's back on the birds!

the bond between a dog and his or her owner is a in credable thing. Its amazing the love and respect we give to each other and how it melts your heart and saddens you when something happens to them. I'm thinking of my Shepard i had for 12 years and lost to cancer. My eyes are watering up thinking about it and that was 11 years ago.  it took me 5 years before i got another Shepard and he is 6 now will be 7 in February. I'm so glad for you and the Mrs. that you buddy is doing well. Broken hearts sometimes never mend because you always have those memories of your friend. Once again Mr. & Mrs Mookie god bless ruger and by the way my shepard's name is Luger meaning small German gun in German.    My best to you and your family.   aj454
