From the few articles I've read, it seems like the DEC doesn't deny their presence, but that there is a breeding population. It doesn't sound like there's enough deer in the ADK's to support much of an apex predator population any way  . They still "hunt" them with dogs out west there must be a fair number of them.

their is plenty of food for them up here not counting deer with all the small game and pets running in the woods durring tourist season

Info I have read somewhere said a cat has a range of 25 square miles. There is plenty of room for them her in the ADKS. The only thing we don't have room for is more Citiots, as my daughter calls them.
