i was lucky enough to dram a moose tag for this season coming up        i live in maine i just purchased a new rifle i am looking 

to find a good load for moose
IF ITS BROWN ITS DOWN
people that steal other peoples stuff  are lower than whale on the bottom of the ocean

180 grain 30. 06 is what i use.

A solid bullet 150grs or more will do it, what cartiage does your rifle chamber? I suppose it won't be any overly long shot in Maine? So don't need any huge rifle pretty well any .30 will do the job (even a .30-30 will do it, but I won't try), you can go down to a .270, but thats about as small as most people should use for a moose. But you don't need a .338 or bigger.

lotta moose shot with a 22 mag     lol   dont recomend it  but it is known to work......30 30  30-06 180   will work

180 grain out of a 30.06 is what I prefer, however shot placement has a lot to do with it.  I once shot a 900 lb bull at 200 yards with a 130 grain .270 but don't know if I recommend it.
