thanks we seen about 100 birds but only 3 came into range and we droped 2 of them

That suck, I hate when that happens.  Are you going again soon and how are the flocks looking in general around the area?  I haven't been seeing as many this year as in the past few.

I am fairly new to goose hunting, in the fall is it worth it to set out decoys on the lakes waiting for them to come back in or is that mostly for the late season and i should try to find some fields.

i would stick to the fields or ponds if you can
