laminated thumbhole stock
« on: Oct 10, 2012, 04:10:15 PM »
Any ideas? I want to order a thumbhole stock for my model 7 but it only comes with a magnum barrel channel, the tech said I could bed the barrel? Do I sound dumb if I dont know what that means or how its done?

Check with Boyd Stocks, I'm willing to bet they will make the one you need. You might still have to bed the stock however it will be a much better fit. Bedding the stock is filling in with a bedding resin (cryo) the area under the forearm stock at the locking lug to the action to help minimize and dampen vibrations. You still want the barrel to be free floating up to the locking lug though. Many kits have good step by step instructions. Brownells sells the best kits.
