I went to one of the local contractors this morning to get a pickup load of gravel, and to my surprise there was a small bull moose laying between two of his stockpiles. The moose was injured, he tried to stand but couldn't. He must have gotten hit by a vehicle during the night and made it to the spot where I found him. The contractor called the state police and they put him out of his misery and hauled him off. They never asked if anyone wanted the meat. I don't think it would have tasted very well anyway. Too bad to see him go to waste though.
