The ol man came down for a long weekend to hunt. Wednesday night he shot this 8 pointer

Unfortunately Thursday night he hit one we couldn’t find. I’m pretty sure it was not a fatal shot hardly any blood. Just difficult not finding the bolt. Think buck fever got the best of him. Spent most of Friday grid searching the wood lot with no luck.

Sunday morning he redeemed himself and got another 8 and a doe.

Well passed on a 4pt yesterday afternoon and let him walk.
Where’s all the big ones I had on my camera?
That’s why I have a love hate thing about them……

was out Saturday most of the day and Sunday passed on 2 different spike horns both big body deer thought for a second big does then saw the little spikes just barely above the ears. Alot of big deer being checked in this year with small racks heard of a 207lb 5 point being checked in.

Well got to one of the blinds with an active ground scrape 20 yards in front of me and one 25 yards to my left.
There for 15 minutes and a doe walks out and hangs around for 1/2 hour eating what’s left of the apples . She stopped in the scrap and peed … She looks behind her and walks into the woods and I’m thinking buck.  No just a doe with a fawn.  They hang around for to long and I see a tail in the thick stuff..  Out walks a big old doe with her tail up the whole time..
She walks over to the scrap and starts chewing and rubbing the licking branch  and pees, does a kind of pawing, jumps and runs off..
At this point I have to pee myself.. ;D
So thinking the field is clear I kneel forward to pee in the jug.
Look to my left and a spike is using the other scrape.   :o

Loser Herb does it again!

Nice work by your father Cody, maybe I should be hunting MD, lol.

Pee in the scrape Dom, no need for a jug. Cams are good motivators and make it easier to pass.

Had the twin 4pts running around me yesterday afternoon. I really think if I had a good shot I would have taken one..

Tough to get a shot when they're running around.
