Spent a week up at hunting camp hunting with my father, brother and a few friends. Finally got some snow the Friday after thanksgiving but was not great tracking conditions. The leafs under the snow were froze and loud from when it switched from rain to snow.
Saw 5 moose and 6 doe and fawns but no bucks during the week. Was still a great time and some others had luck. My dad shot a 7 on Saturday night. Then on Tuesday I cut a good track going into a small swamp that’s a bowl shape. I got ahold of the guys and told them to get on the other side partway up the ridge in the hardwoods to see if they could cut this buck off. After getting partway across the swamp on the track I hear him get up and bust out and just get a quick look at him. Few minutes later I hear the shooting start as he ran by two of the guys up in the ridge.
Ended up being a nice 10 pointer that weighed 162 lbs.
