picked up last week from an oldtimer for nothing really. what would u compaire it to? anyone used it for deer? shell looks like a .243 or a .260 i don't know? any feed back would be much appreciated thanks

It's a excellent cartridge. Bullets range from 100grn to 160 if you reload. It's plenty for deer, black bear. They use it for moose and caribo over there. It's also a inherently accurate cartridge. What type of rifle did you get? If it's in original military configuration PLEASE don't "sporterize" it! Sell it to a collector and use the money to get a commecial sporter in a common chambering.
