  Some guys take the cartilage out and put a plastic ear liner in its place...  I just seperate the skin from the cartilage on the back side and put a little bondo in it and form it with my hands till it drys..  Old school way..

This doesn't even include what happens to the cape before I tan it..   First...Turning the ears, lips,nose and eye lids... Than salting for 3 days.. Than washing it several times.. Than fleshing the whole thing.. Than wash again..  Than tan..
