Well my time finally came Saturday AM, started out at first light being set up right under 3 jakes and 6 or so hens with gobblers firing off about 100 yards or so down the ridge, the toms dropped and the hens headed their way while the jakes stayed in the tree till almost 7, it was killing me listening to the gobbler moving farther and farther off.  Once the Jakes dropped and moved off I quickly made my move circled around and set up where two roads cut through some thick cover, I started a sequence and the gobblers cut right back but so did the hens.  After about 30 minutes or so I started throwing everything I have at them working 2 to 3 calls at a time and that was what it took my gobbler couldn't take anymore and I soon heard him closing the distance, I could hear him spitting and drumming on his way in, when I got a visual I turned on my red dot, DOH! the battery was dead, so I let him get to 25 and let'r rip and 2013 Gobbler #1 was officially mine.  21.5lbs 10 1/4" beard 1 1/8" hooks. Headed to the north country to chase some gobblers with the old man this week, he has been into them pretty good so my anticipation is high!
