No hunting for a week???

Anyone know why we have a week off ? As long as I can remember shotgun started the monday after Archery season ended. But the law is saying we cannot hunt from Nov 23-Nov 30

It happens every few years due to the way that the mass general laws are written. Archery season: this 6-week season begins on the third Monday prior to the first Monday in November and ends on the sixth Saturday thereafter. Shotgun season (Zones 01-11, 13-14): this 12-day season begins on the Monday after Thanksgiving and ends on the second Saturday thereafter; Shotgun season (Zone 12): this 6-day season begins on the Monday after Thanksgiving and ends on the following Saturday; Primitive firearms ("muzzleloader") season: this season begins on the third Monday after Thanksgiving (i.e., the Monday after the close of the 12-day shotgun season) and ends on December 31. Thus, there are a variable number of days in this season. basically thanksgiving is late this year and there is a gap in the season due to the way the laws are written

Toe cheese's I have been hunting for 26 years I have never seen this before. Are you from mass? I just don't get it. third Monday. first Saturday. But I do get the part that I will not be hunting on Thanksgiving

yes i am from mass. believe it or not it happened in 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003 and will happen in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013

Wow toe cheese were did you come up with this? Were do you live in mass? How did you do last year?

I live in central mass last year i only hunted 3 days in mass shot and missed twice. How did you do?
